Iowa
GENERAL INFORMATION
THE IOWA , CAUCUS IS HELD ON JANUARY 3, 2008 Voting  begins shortly after 7 PM CST when the caucus attendees gather at the their appointed locations all around Iowa .

Many caucuses are over quickly, but in some places, like Dubuque in some years, the gathering takes longer as all the precincts for one county meet in one or two places, such as at a High School or in a convention center. Even then, each precinct will break up into its own classroom or corner, in order to vote by paper  ballot or a show of hands.

The Iowa Caucus is the cleanest run major election contest in the United States a the LOCAL level. The danger of fraud happens at the STATE level, after the local folks have phoned their votes in to the central counting entity.

Operation “Watch the Vote 2008” is cooperating with WatchTheVote2008.com and LibertyBroadcastNetwork.com, two of the places the independently gathered results will be published on the internet for all to see.

As a citizen correspondent, you are taking part in an historic effort to double check the results announced on the night of the Iowa Caucus by Voter News Service/National Election Pool and its owners: ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, FOX, and AP wire service. In the past, these corporations have been caught falsifying election results (i.e., the Iowa Presidential Caucus in Dubuque , Iowa 1996; FOX did not exist at that time) and apparently trying to warp election results through uniform, dubious projections (i.e., Senator Bob Smith Senate Race in New Hampshire in 1998.)

There are 99 counties in Iowa , and these counties are divided up into 1784 voting precincts. According to the information being published, the Iowans at all 1784 precinct gatherings will vote by paper ballot or by hand.

The danger is that the results called in by the local people will be falsified at the state level. This is what happened in the 1996 Iowa Presidential Caucuses, on February 12, 1996 . The local Iowans conducted themselves with integrity and honor: they did their job. They voted by paper ballot, and immediately counted the results in front of everyone present in each precinct. The leader then accurately called the votes into the state level operatives. THIS IS WHERE THE DANGER OF VOTE FRAUD IS IN THE IOWA CAUCUSES.

The state GOP headquarters of Iowa designated Voter News Service of New York City to take the phone calls from the local county and precincts leaders at the Iowa Caucus that year. This whole event is recounted in the article, A House Without Doors, available online.

Voter News Service is a corporation then owned jointly by ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN and AP wire. (FOX did not exist in 1996, but because part of the cabal in 1998.) Voter News Service, based in New York City , then simply falsified the results and sent them out over AP wire. The major media published the false results from AP wire, which “results”  have stood to this day. A team in Dubuque , Iowa proved via eyewitnesses that Voter News Service stole 13% of Presidential Patrick Buchanan's vote in Dubuque County alone. (870 Buchanan votes were reduced by Voter News Service to 757 votes.)

The idea in 2008 is for citizen correspondents to watch all 99 counties in Iowa , instead of just the one county of Dubuque County, Iowa .

By ascertaining the results at each of the caucus gatherings, and publishing our independently collected results on the internet as soon as possible, citizens across the United States can check our independently gathered results versus the results (?) published by Voter News Service (now renamed National Election Pool) and the 5 Big TV Networks, and AP wire, which jointly own it.

WHAT ARE MY RESPONSIBILITIES

On location CORRESPONDENT [boots on the ground]
  1. Before leaving for the caucus you are covering, print out the tally sheet for all the candidates available at the confirmation page on this website. Also download, or make yourself a “Liberty Broadcast Network” Press Credential badge.
  2. Be at your assigned Caucus place at least by 6:30 PM, so that you can introduce yourself to the person running the Caucus, tell them that you are there to record the result, as well as anything else they wish the world to know about what happened at their Caucus. If they will let you observe the Caucus directly, that's the best. If not, ask them if you can see them afterwards and record the Caucus results for each candidate. If for some reason, the leader of that Caucus doesn't want to cooperate at all, ask people going in if they will record the results and relay them to you after the event.
  3. Use the tally sheet which you downloaded from this website, and write down the final count as it is relayed to you.
  4. Finally, you will cause the results you recorded to be uploaded to the internet in one of two ways:
    1. either call your assigned at-home support person who will then upload your results from his/her home computer to WatchTheVote2008.com – or
    2. if you have a laptop computer and can access the internet, you can upload the results yourself

Remote CORRESPONDENT [From your home or office]

  1. We are going to try and find either 50 or 100 stay-at-home correspondents so that every person will have only one or two counties to cover.
  2. The caucus gathering places in each county will be announced around December 16-17 in the local community papers.
  3. Unless we can find a way to get a comprehensive list, each stay-at-home correspondent will call the community newspaper in their county and get the caucus locations.
  4. Ask the local community newspaper if they will be getting the results directly from each caucus in their county. If so, tell them you are with Liberty Broadcast Network, an internet site, and ask them if you can call them the day after the Caucus and get the results.
  5. Also, if possible, contact the leader of each caucus location in your county. Tell the Caucus leader that you are a citizen correspondent for Watch the Vote 2008 and Liberty Broadcasting Network, an internet news outlet.
  6. Tell the Caucus organizer that we may have a correspondent on the ground at his caucus location to get the results, but that, as a back up, you would like to contact number him later that night for the results.
  7. After the Caucus, get the results directly from the Caucus organizer or from our on the ground correspondent.
  8. Record the results relayed to you on the tally sheet you have downloaded from the confirmation page on this website. (If we have a live correspondent at that polling place on election night, you will not need to bother the caucus leader.)
  9. Upload the results on your tally sheet up to the internet.
